The route takes you along quiet rural roads through Madeira’s green highlands towards Morena and the charming village of Santo da Serra. Cycling at altitudes between roughly 400 and 800 metres, this area offers cooler temperatures, lush forests and beautiful panoramic views over the island’s eastern mountains.
Along the way you will pass through agricultural landscapes and small rural communities that showcase a more authentic side of Madeira. Santo da Serra provides a perfect place to pause, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the village and perhaps stop for a coffee before beginning the return ride back to Camacha.
